Veterinarian
Hello, I'm Dr. Savana Paramore, and I’m a veterinarian at Cabarrus Animal Hospital. My connection to CAH goes back to when I was in high school, when I first started shadowing the veterinarians here. I officially joined the team as a veterinary assistant in 2018, and after completing my education and early career training, I returned as a full-time veterinarian.
I earned my B.S. in Biology with a minor in Public Health from UNC Charlotte in 2019, followed by my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024. After graduation, I spent a year practicing general and emergency medicine just outside Montgomery, Alabama, at Cobbs Ford Pet Health Center before coming home to Cabarrus Animal Hospital.
I am Fear-Free Pets Certified, a Cat Friendly Veterinarian, and have completed advanced spay/neuter training through the ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance. I also hold FEMA certifications in ICS, Livestock, and Animals in Disasters.
Why I Chose This Profession
I chose veterinary medicine because it perfectly blends my love of science with my passion for animals. Every patient is a unique puzzle, and I enjoy the challenge of thinking critically while providing compassionate, individualized care. Helping animals and supporting their families feels like meaningful, purpose-driven work, and it’s a privilege I don’t take lightly.
My Favorite Part of My Job
My favorite part of being a veterinarian is building long-term relationships with my patients and the people who love them. I appreciate being part of every chapter of a pet’s life — from puppy or kitten visits and preventative care, to managing chronic conditions and urgent medical needs, and even supporting families through end-of-life decisions. Creating continuity of care and becoming a trusted resource for my clients is incredibly fulfilling.
My areas of special interest within my job include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, dermatology, and emergency medicine. I enjoy the technical skill, problem-solving, and patient outcomes associated with these fields, and I’m always looking for opportunities to grow and advance my expertise.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of the clinic, I’m a dedicated plant lover and the resident “plant doctor” of my home, where I live with my husband, our Dachshund, our Border Collie, and our cat. In my free time, I enjoy weightlifting, horseback riding, live music, camping, and traveling. And when life slows down enough to give me a quiet moment, you’ll almost always find me curled up with a good book.
